If you have an IPL device such as the Lumenis Stellar, you’re probably aware of the many treatments it’s capable of.
If you don’t have an IPL device, you may think they’re outdated technology, but nothing could be further from the truth.
Here are some of the 20+ treatments you can add to your clinic menu using the Lumenis Stellar.
Skin Resurfacing
IPL uses (by definition) intense pulses of light, which creates heat and stimulates collagen production. It also helps firm the skin and reduces pore size. The end result is brighter, more even skin.
Pigmentation
Flaws and pigmentation on the skin can impact self-confidence. Thanks to IPL, they can be a thing of the past. The treatment targets melanin, drawing the discolouration to the skin surface, allowing the body to heal and remove the discolouration.
Freckles and Sunspots
Using the same process as pigmentation, IPL targets the darker colour of freckles and helps the skin’s natural healing processes to break up and remove the spot.
Broken Capillaries, Spider Veins, Rosacea, Cherry Angiomas, Red Spots
One of the best things about IPL is being able to say to a customer, “While we’re doing this treatment, would you like me to fix that?”
The system targets broken vessels that are clumped together, breaking them apart and sending them back into the bloodstream, where they are reabsorbed.
Acne
IPL penetrates multiple skin layers and targets acne bacteria. That’s great news for all acne sufferers, but especially those who also have redness, swelling and discolouration. The treatment can also be used to revitalise the skin, effectively multiple treatments in one.
Wrinkles
The collagen in our body doesn’t reproduce as readily as we get older. The result is fewer elastin fibers, causing the skin to sag and fold. An IPL treatment will destroy loose collagen and stimulate new collagen, reducing the appearance of aging.
