Brides and grooms often become new clients as they begin their in-clinic skincare journey leading up to their wedding. Or excitingly, one of your lovely regulars might arrive for their next appointment with a rather special piece of jewellery. As the countdown to a client’s wedding begins, your role as their skin expert becomes very important. They want to marry the person of their dreams with dreamy skin to match! Read on to discover tips for designing a wedding skincare treatment plan, and which devices deliver optimal, reliable results.

When should clients start their wedding skin prep?

Your bride-to-be or groom-to-be wants to see real results: whether their big day is over a year away, or in a matter of months or even weeks. As their aesthetic professional, it’s crucial for you to set their expectations about results, whatever their starting point. They’ll appreciate your honesty about what can or can’t be achieved in their timeframe. You can also go the extra mile by giving them details about the costs involved early on. This way, they can budget for it before other expenses start popping up.

Skin treatments for weddings about a year away

If your client’s wedding is over a year away, you have the luxury of time to design a long-term treatment plan. This could include more intensive treatments since they have more time for their skin to recover and rejuvenate. When you’re closer to their wedding day, you can dial the intensity down and focus on maintaining their results.

A series of at least three SYLFIRM X, Lasoptek Helios 785, or Stellar M22 treatments are usually required for the best results. They’ll need to be spaced out over weeks or months, depending on your clients’ indications. Once the initial results are built, encourage your client to maintain them with less frequent or less intensive treatments in last the few months before their wedding.

Skin treatments for weddings less than a year away

Clients with shorter engagements (or those who’ve been too busy planning to make an appointment) are somewhat limited with what can be achieved. There’s less time for their skin to recover from intensive treatments, so your treatment plan may need to be more conservative. However, that’s not to say you don’t have possibilities to help them say ‘I do’ in their best skin yet.

Again, depending on timing and your clients’ indications, you could recommend a series of Lasoptek Helios 785 or Laseroptek Helios III treatments to target their primary skin tone or textural concerns. Additionally, The CooLifting Gun provides that ‘quick fix’ effect, with a short-term tightening and glow-boosting effect. More dramatic and lasting results appear gradually.

Consider the following treatment options to prompt short-term improvements or build impressive long-term results for your clients.

Tips for post-treatment care

Following a treatment, remind your soon-to-be-newlywed about any after-care steps. They should understand what to expect post-treatment (such as redness, dryness, flaking, or crusting), and that they need to be diligent with their skincare routine. Explain that if they keep their skin healthy between appointments, it will optimise and possibly fast-track their results.

Let your client know when they need to return for a follow-up appointment. Even better: book it in before they leave. Make sure they understand why they need to return for more skin treatments – like the journey to getting married, good things take time.
